New Student Transportation Request (In-town only)
COMPLETE THIS FORM IF YOU WILL NEED TRANSPORTATION TO and/or FROM SCHOOL FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR AND DID NOT COMPLETE THE FORM SENT OUT IN MAY 2021.


At the February, 22, 2021 Special Board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted on new school start and end times. These new times will impact transportation, especially in the morning. It is very important that the District build routes with the most accurate information to meet the needs of our families. The school start times for in-town and Wamsutter schools are as follows:

Elementary (K-6) - 8:10 AM to 3:00 PM
Junior High (7-8) - 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM
High School (9-12) - 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM

As you can see, there is a start time difference of only 10 minutes between elementary and secondary. In the past, we have built routes based on addresses in PowerSchool to meet the needs of students outside of the 1 mile radius for K-6 and 2 mile radius for 7-12. Over the years, we have found that stops are created for students who do not end up riding the bus. One example of this would be a route that started with 15 stops, but only ended up picking students up at 4 stops.

In order to streamline our routes, we are asking that all families that need transportation complete the following form. Your address needs to match the address we have in PowerSchool. If you have moved since last updating your information, please reach out to your school to update your address information. The mornings will be especially difficult with the closer start times. The questions below will give us clear information on the amount of students that absolutely need transportation in the morning and/or the afternoon. We recognize that your family situation may change between now and the start of next school year. That is perfectly fine. At this time, the district is trying to get a handle on district transportation needs as we prepare for the fall and the 4-day school week.

Students receiving Specialized Transportation through the Special Services department will be handled through a different process at a later date and do not need to complete this form.

You will need to complete this form for each student needing transportation. Do not complete multiple forms for the same student.
