What is the coming school year going to look like? For high school students, it is possible that it will feel like a “normal” school year now that COVID-19 vaccinations are available to all teenagers. Many high schools may even require students to be vaccinated to attend in-person school. But what if you discovered that remote learning actually worked really well for you? You might not really want to return to the traditional physical school setting.

The good news for any Indiana high school student is that you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You could get some or all of your high school education online with Achieve Virtual Education Academy with teachers who go the extra mile for your academic success! If you didn’t like how remote learning went for you during the pandemic, here’s what you need to keep in mind: That sudden shift to remote education was an emergency response to a widespread public health emergency. It was not ideal. It was rushed. Teachers didn’t have adequate training or time to prepare for quality online learning. In other words, don’t judge all online learning by the experience you had with remote learning during a crisis.

At Achieve Virtual, we’ve been doing virtual courses for more than a decade. We are the first online high school program in the state of Indiana, and we’re fully approved by the state’s Department of Education. In short, we know how to do online education right. You can attend part-time or full-time to work towards your high school diploma. The date you want to keep in mind is June 14. That’s the first day registration will be open for the fall 2021 semester. Space is limited, so mark your calendar now and start the enrollment process on June 14! What are the Course Options and Costs at Achieve Virtual?

Achieve Virtual offers a full range of subjects and multiple course options in each subject. There are also advanced placement (AP) options in several subject areas, along with dual credit courses accepted for college credit by many institutions of higher education. Every course offered in the Achieve Virtual online high school program is taught by a real Indiana teacher who is qualified and certified to teach in their subject area. Even more importantly, each of them is passionate about helping each learner achieve academic success. In fact, something we’ve heard from many students is how they feel like they receive more support and individual attention from their online instructor than they ever received in the traditional school setting. Each course in our curriculum also adheres to the Indiana Department of Education curriculum standards.

Students can receive a full high school education through Achieve Virtual to earn a complete Indiana Core 40 or Core 40 with Academic Honors (AHD) diploma. Our online high school is managed through the Metropolitan School District (MSD) of Wayne Township.

Attending Achieve Virtual with a full-time enrollment status is absolutely free for any high school student in the state of Indiana. If you only need to take a few courses on a part-time basis, you’ll need to pay a modest fee per course (students in MSD Wayne Township attend for free even on a part-time status). Dual credit courses have higher fees, which do not cover the cost of required textbooks.

Details About Fall 2021 Registration for Online High School

There is an application process you have to go through in order to enroll in online high school at Achieve Virtual. For high school learners who are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must create an account through our website. Instructions for enrolling will then be sent by email to the guardian’s registered email account. Students can then log in as the guardian to fill out the student application. When we see an application come in, we usually call to verify the information entered. When everything is set, you can begin working with Achieve Virtual counseling about what courses you need to take and scheduling classes.
