Pascack Hills voted North Jersey Football Team of the Week for Week 3

After four days of voting, Pascack Hills was selected as the North Jersey Football Team of the Week.

The Broncos (2-0) have opened a season with back-to-back wins for the first time since 2010. They defeated Fair Lawn, 41-13. Senior Dom Musco scored on a 53-yard run and caught a 30-yard TD pass from senior Ben Klein. Senior Alejandro Camarena rushed for 150 of the team’s more than 250 ground yards and scored on runs of 1, 59 and 32 yards.

Here were the other nominees:

Becton

The Wildcats (1-2) secured their first victory, 42-14, over Garfield. Sophomore quarterback Jonathan Palsi starred in his first varsity start. Palsi was 7-for-9 for 117 yards, including a 60-yard score to senior Izayah Royster. Palsi also carried 17 times for 100 yards and two scores. Jalen Powell ran for the first and last score of the game.

Dumont

The Huskies (2-1) won their second close game by rallying to beat Glen Ridge, 16-14. Junior Ethan Chiaramonte kicked a 37-yard field goal in the fourth. They pulled within 14-13 in the second quarter after senior Anthony Picinich threw a 10-yard TD pass to junior Josiah Guzman. Picinich was 8-for-12 for 165 yards and a score. Senior Mike Gabiettie rushed for 71 yards and score.

Hackensack

The Comets (2-1) rolled for the second consecutive week with a 42-0 victory over Belleville. Junior Ayden Jones ran for 140 yards and three first-half TD. Senior Matthew Pallouras threw for 120 yards, featuring TD passes of 75 and 30 yards to senior Jake Borchard. Junior Joe Farrington had 10 tackles, including two for losses, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.

Paramus Catholic

The Paladins (1-2) snapped an 18-game losing streak with Friday’s 21-20 home win over Chaminade (N.Y.). Sophomore backup Ty Blackwell-Williams threw a 70-yard TD pass in the final minute to senior Justus Diaz-Rinaldi. Freshman Jeremiah Tirado blocked a field goal. New coach Greg Russo earned his first win at his alma mater and a few hours later his wife gave birth to their son.

Weehawken

The Indians (3-0) secured their first 3-0 start in at least 20 years and their first three-game winning streak since 2015 thanks to a 14-6 victory at Bogota. They took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 68-yard TD run by senior Bryce Honig. They extended the margin to 14-0 in the second quarter on a 32-yard interception return by sophomore Eneaz Wells.

Wood-Ridge

The Blue Devils (3-0) registered one of the biggest regular season upsets in NJIC history with a 14-12 road victory over Park Ridge. Senior Braden Negro threw a 65-yard TD pass to junior Vladimir Schultz in the fourth. Senior Nick Chromey made 15 tackles, including a key stop on a fourth-and-1 in the final minutes, and had an interception.
