AP Exam Reminders
AP Exam Testing Procedures
Enter through the front main gate. (Students will not be let in through the gym).
Bring your ID card. No ID = No Exam.
Bring #2 pencils (mechanical pencils not recommended), AND black or blue ink pens (Yes, even for digital testing as you will be provided scratch paper for notes)
Bring an approved calculator and/or ruler if your test subject permits (no phones)
Cell phones/smart watches/earbuds should NOT enter the testing room
There will be a 10-minute break between sections 1 and 2 - beverages and snacks can be consumed during this time
Attendance Reminder:
Students are expected to attend morning classes before an afternoon AP Exam. Students taking an afternoon AP Exam will be excused from their 3rd or 4th-period class at 11:15 to have lunch and use the restroom. The cafeteria will be open early for these students as well.
*For PM exams on late start Wednesday, students will report to the testing location immediately following brunch.
Students are expected to return to class after an 8:00 am AP Exam.
If a student needs to leave campus after a morning AP Exam, parents/guardians must contact the WR attendance office (wrattendance@hartdistrict.org) before 11:00 am. Any attendance excusal requests made after 11 am will require a parent/guardian to physically enter campus to sign out their student. If a parent submits an excusal request after 11 am and cannot enter campus, the student will be released at 1:00 with a pink, self-release pass.
Dismissal Time:
ALL students will be dismissed at the end of the testing session. A student may not leave the exam room early for any reason. Provided are estimated end times:
For an 8:00 am exam = the estimated dismissal time is 11:30
For a noon exam = the estimated dismissal time is 3:45
Digital Testing Reminders

Bring your ID card to check in to the testing location. A photo ID is required to take the exam.
Memorize your College Board Username and Password.
No access to phones or saved passwords on your Google account while in the testing room
Bring a pencil/pen
Scratch paper will be provided
Do NOT log in to the Chromebook. Instead, click on the Apps button to access the Bluebook App, then log in to College Board
There’s a digital timer on your screen
When you reach the “break”, you may QUIETLY begin your break.
2024 Digital Exam Subjects at WR - AP Literature and Composition, AP Language and Composition, AP World History: Modern, AP US History, AP Computer Science Principles.
To register for each AP exam students must complete TWO TASKS:
(1) - Sign into the student's College Board Account and enter the JOIN CODE specific to their teacher's course
(2) - Sign in and pay for the AP Exam through the Total Registration website above. *Fill out the Free/Reduced Lunch form if applicable
You will receive a payment confirmation email from Total Registration. If parents and students did not receive a Payment Confirmation Email, then the payment was not fully processed.
Testing Day Policies
Tardiness to AP Exams will absolutely NOT be tolerated. If you miss your AP Exam due to tardiness, you will not be given a refund for that exam and you will not be moved to Late AP testing.
You must come prepared for your AP Exams. You must have a school-issued or government, non-paper ID. NO ID = NO EXAM! No exceptions.

Blue or black ink pens
Watches that cannot access the internet and/or beep

Rulers or straightedge for Physics exams
NOT-PERMITTED ITEMS:
Electronic equipment including phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, wearable technology, cameras, recording or listening devices, or any other type of electronic communication devices
Books, reference guides, notes, compasses, protractors, mechanical pencils, pencils that are not No. 2, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or colored pencils
Scratch paper: students are prohibited from bringing scratch paper to the AP Exam.
Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.

REMINDERS:
Enter school through the main gate only.
You will not be allowed to access your bags during the exam. You will be allowed to eat a snack and grab a drink only during exam breaks.
You are not allowed to leave the exam room for an unscheduled break
Any restroom breaks that you take outside of the scheduled break during the exam, will impact your exam timing. You will not get that time back. You must notify the proctor if you need to use the restroom outside of the scheduled break time.
You must arrive EARLY to your AP Exams. Start planning transportation weeks in advance as buses will not be running before and after exam times.
If you have two exams back to back on the same day, please be prepared to eat a very quick lunch, use the restroom, and re-sit for your next exam.
8am Exams - Students must arrive NO LATER than 7:30am.
12pm Exams - Students must arrive NO LATER than 11:40am.

Absences for AP Testing dates must be communicated to the AP Coordinator, Mrs. Watanabe, no later than 24 hours after the original exam time.
Non-Approved AP Exam Absences:
Family event including wedding, graduation, etc.
Non-school sponsored athletic event or academic contest
College visit or vacation
Approved AP Exam Absences:
Conflict with school-sponsored athletic/academic event
Conflict due to a College Board approved (SSD) accommodation
Illness, accompanied by a doctor's note, provided to the AP Coordinator within 24 hours of the original exam time

2023-2024 AP Exam Policies and Procedures
West Ranch High School provides the opportunity for WR students to take AP Exams in the May testing cycle. WR utilizes a website called Total Registration for all AP registration and payment. No physical money transfer will occur on the WR campus for AP Exams. WR has specific policies and procedures regarding AP Exam Registration. Please see those items outlined below. These will be re-iterated to students and families during the Fall Exam registration video which will be released during the school year and shown to students. Registration links can be found below.
